Qaqortoq is a colorful coastal town in southern Greenland with around 3,050 residents, notable for its tiered houses, colonial-era architecture, and unique “Stone & Man” outdoor stone carvings scattered through the streets. The Mittarfik Qaqortoq Heliport (IATA JJU, ICAO BGJH) lies at the southeastern edge of town at about 53 ft elevation and operates year-round government-contracted flights by Air Greenland to nearby settlements and Narsarsuaq Airport.
A foggy coastal scene shows a body of water with a single iceberg, a rocky shoreline with sparse vegetation, and a small airfield.
