The Massachusetts Maritime Academy Pier, located on the Buzzards Bay side of the campus at the mouth of the Cape Cod Canal in Bourne, MA, serves as the operational and ceremonial hub for maritime training. Cadets use the pier to launch small training boats, collect marine research samples with scientific instruments (like sondes), and practice seamanship at the bow of their training ship, the T.S. Patriot State. The pier is also featured in a live webcam that captures daily maritime activity and traditional end-of-semester “Senior Swim” events.
