The Teepee Fountain in Hot Springs State Park, Thermopolis, is a man-made travertine formation built around a vent pipe installed in 1903 to relieve pressure from the hot mineral springs. Over decades, mineral-rich hot water flowing from the pipe deposits lime and gypsum, causing the cone to grow about 1–2 inches per year, gradually taking on its distinct dome shape. Today, it stands as a colorful, popular landmark—constantly evolving and recognized as one of the park’s most photographed and unique geothermal features.
