The port of l"lle Rousse, a historical port of the Balagne, is located between Calvi and Saint-Florent, on the north-west coast of Corsica. L"lle Rousse, meaning "red island", takes its name from the colour of the rocks surrounding it. The port is sheltered from the south-westerly winds by the Genoese tower which dates from the 16th century.
A wide-angle view captures a large red ferry docked at a port with a spacious, marked ground and a lone person walking, all under a partly cloudy sky with brilliant sunshine illuminating distant mountains.
