Jennifer O'Brien, a former male-to-female transgender individual known as Jennifer Nieve, has been found guilty of multiple serious crimes and sentenced to 17 years in prison. The Manchester Crown Court heard that she committed at least 10 instances of sexual assault and other violent offenses against a single victim who repeatedly refused her advances.

The judge described the crimes as 'repeated offending' and emphasized that O'Brien's actions caused significant, long-term harm to the victim. Despite defense claims of her having complex PTSD and a history of trauma, the court ruled that her criminal behavior could not be excused or treated as a single incident.
