Police in Tokyo are searching for a group of thieves who stole over US$2.7 million during a series of late-night robberies across central Tokyo. The suspects targeted five people, including three Japanese nationals and two Chinese citizens, as they loaded suitcases containing the stolen money into a car.
One victim, a Chinese man in his 40s, was allegedly sprayed with pepper spray by the group before they fled. In a separate incident at Haneda Airport, a man was attacked with pepper spray but no money was taken from him. Investigators are looking into whether there is a connection between these two incidents.
