Cambodia Detains Over 2000 in Scam Crackdown

Cambodian authorities have carried out a major operation against online scam networks, detaining more than 2000 individuals. The raid, conducted in the town of Bavet, targeted a large-scale fraud compound and resulted in the arrest of individuals from various countries, including nearly 1800 Chinese nationals.

The Cambodian Interior Ministry stated that this action reflects the government's firm stance against online scammers. The operation highlighted the increasing international collaboration to combat cybercrime, as China has been pressuring Cambodia to strengthen its anti-scam measures.
