Russia's Missile Strikes on Ukraine Intensify This Winter

Russia has intensified missile strikes on Ukraine's energy infrastructure this winter, causing significant damage and hardship for civilians.

Intensified Missile Strikes in Ukraine

Russia has significantly escalated its missile attacks on Ukraine's energy sector this winter, dealing severe damage to critical infrastructure and leaving many without heating or electricity. President Volodymyr Zelensky has criticized Russia for using the coldest days to 'terrorize people' and has urged international allies to apply maximum pressure on Moscow.

The strikes have targeted power plants in Kyiv, Odesa, and other cities, marking the most powerful blows this year. With temperatures dropping to -20°C (-4°F), thousands are facing harsh living conditions, relying on shelters and soup kitchens due to prolonged power cuts. Engineers are working around the clock to repair damaged facilities but face shortages of personnel and resources.

Despite a so-called 'energy truce' agreed by Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin expiring over the weekend, Russia has continued to stockpile missiles and prepare for further attacks. Ukraine's Air Force has intercepted only 38 out of 450 drones and missiles launched, highlighting gaps in their air defense systems.

Ukrainians remain resilient, rejecting Russian demands for territorial concessions in the Donbas region. They are determined to defend their sovereignty and continue resisting Moscow's attempts to impose its terms through fear and destruction.
