Hong Kong education authorities are investigating reports of three secondary students drinking alcohol during a cultural exchange tour in mainland China.
Hong Kong education authorities have expressed concern over reports that two boys and a girl from a secondary school sneaked out of their hotel to drink alcohol during a cultural exchange program in mainland China. The incident occurred in mid-January, organized by the Hong Kong Sze Yap Commercial and Industrial Association Wong Tai Shan Memorial College in Sham Shui Po for its Form Five students.
The Education Bureau has contacted the school and is monitoring the internal disciplinary and counselling mechanisms handling the matter. Schools have been reminded to instruct students to strictly observe discipline during learning activities, comply with relevant rules and guidelines, and follow the law.
