Temperatures drop to 8°C in Hong Kong's Lantau Island

The Hong Kong Observatory has issued a weather update indicating that temperatures on Lantau Island and in some rural areas will reach as low as 8 degrees Celsius (46.4 Fahrenheit) during Sunday morning. This marks a notable dip compared to Friday’s temperatures, which were five to seven degrees higher.

 The northeast monsoon is affecting the coast of Guangdong, resulting in overcast conditions and light rain in some areas early on. However, the weather is expected to become drier with sunny intervals later in the day.

Initially, urban areas may experience cooler temperatures around 13 degrees Celsius with patchy light rain, but the overall trend will be towards warmer conditions as the day progresses.
