A significant fire engulfed parts of Taupō Nui-a-Tia College on Sunday afternoon, with flames and smoke visible from the school. The N block was completely ablaze, and ash fell over nearby streets.

Local MP Louise Upston shared her concern over the situation on social media, describing it as 'devastating'. The college is located at the northeast end of Taupō town.
