Saudi Arabia has condemned foreign interference in Sudan’s conflict, accusing RSF of atrocities and demanding a ceasefire. Clashes between RSF and Sudan's army
The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a statement denouncing the ongoing violence in Sudan's Kordofan region, where the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) have been accused of committing serious violations. The ministry emphasized the need for a ceasefire and demanded that foreign actors cease providing support to warring parties.
The RSF, which has faced allegations from both domestic and international bodies including the United Nations, continues to clash with Sudan's armed forces. These clashes have led to massive displacement of civilians and exacerbated the already dire humanitarian situation in the region.
Saudi Arabia also called out 'some parties' involved in the conflict for exploiting their relationships to fuel the war rather than support peace efforts. This comes amid broader regional tensions, including accusations that the United Arab Emirates has been arming and funding RSF, a claim the UAE denies.
