Hong Kong watchdog finds that luxury perfumes from Gucci, Bvlgari, and Acqua di Parma contain high levels of fragrance allergens linked to health risks for some
Hong Kong’s Consumer Council has identified that luxury perfumes from top brands like Gucci, Bvlgari, and Acqua di Parma contain high levels of fragrance allergens. These chemicals can worsen skin conditions in individuals with eczema or sensitive skin.
The watchdog tested over 40 perfume products, finding that three high-end options contained 10 types of allergens. Each product received a rating of two out of five for fragrance allergens, with most higher-rated items containing fewer allergens.
Women planning pregnancies or breastfeeding, families with young children, and those with sensitive skin are advised to use these perfumes cautiously due to potential health risks.
