Thousands of Hong Kong households faced water supply disruptions during Lunar New Year due to a pipe burst. Repairs are ongoing, with temporary water supply sol
During the Lunar New Year, thousands of households across three estates in Hong Kong experienced a sudden water disruption. The incident was caused by a burst pipe in Sau Mau Ping, affecting 216 households from the second to the seventh floors of Hei Wah House in Lok Wah South Estate.
The Housing Authority reported that engineers and contractors performed initial repairs, temporarily restoring water supply at 7am on Wednesday. However, the pipes were still leaking, necessitating further repairs scheduled from 11pm Wednesday to 7am the next day.
To address the situation, the Water Supplies Department provided fresh water to affected residents using a water wagon. A social media clip showed water gushing from the burst pipe and forming a waterfall outside the building.
