The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) has announced the first-time detection of West Nile virus fragments in UK mosquitoes. This discovery was made through a joint research program by the UKHSA and the Animal and Plant Health Agency (APHA).
The UKHSA has stated that the risk to the general public remains "very low". Healthcare professionals will receive further guidance.
