Israeli strikes in Gaza killed 16, according to civil defense officials. The strikes hit central and southern areas as military operations intensify.
Gaza's civil defense agency reported that 16 people were killed in Israeli strikes across the territory on Friday, amidst an intensified military offensive.
According to agency official Mohammed al-Mughayyir, the strikes, which mainly targeted central and southern Gaza, have left dozens wounded since midnight.
The Israeli army stated its forces attacked military compounds, weapons storage facilities, and sniper posts in Gaza, also reporting over 75 terror targets hit.
Major operations in Gaza resumed on March 18, following a two-month ceasefire.
Gaza's health ministry reports at least 3,613 deaths since the resumption, bringing the total war death toll to 53,762, mostly civilians. The Hamas attack in October 2023 resulted in 1,218 deaths in Israel and the capture of 251 hostages.
