Netanyahu accuses Starmer, Macron, and Carney of siding with Hamas after criticism of Israel's Gaza offensive. UK and France reaffirm stance.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has launched a blistering attack on key world leaders.
Netanyahu accused UK's Sir Keir Starmer, France's Emmanuel Macron, and Canada's Mark Carney of being on the "wrong side of humanity" and effectively supporting Hamas's continued rule. He stated they were siding with "mass murderers, rapists, baby killers and kidnappers."
This criticism follows a joint statement from the UK, France, and Canada condemning Israel's expanded offensive in Gaza as "disproportionate" and highlighting the "intolerable" humanitarian situation.
The UK has reiterated its support for Israel's right to self-defense within international law, while also emphasizing the urgent need for humanitarian aid to reach the suffering people of Gaza. France has voiced similar concerns about the escalation in Gaza and the need for increased aid access.
Adding to the turmoil, former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert has described the current Israeli government as a "gang of thugs."
