Dr. Alaa al-Najjar, a pediatrician at Nasser Hospital and the children's mother, was at work when she heard about the explosion near her home south of the city. She rushed to the scene only to find emergency workers recovering the charred remains of her children.
Ali al-Najjar, her brother-in-law, stated that they recovered four charred bodies initially, with the mother immediately recognizing them.
Tragically, two other children from the family remain missing and are presumed dead beneath the rubble.
