Zelensky slams US silence after deadly Russian strikes, saying it encourages Putin. The attacks, the largest since the war's start, caused widespread damage.
President Zelensky of Ukraine has criticized the United States for its perceived silence following recent intensified Russian attacks, suggesting it emboldens President Putin.
A massive aerial assault by Russia, the largest since the war began, resulted in numerous casualties and widespread damage across Ukraine. The attacks involved a high number of missiles and drones, impacting regions including Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Kharkiv and Odesa.
At least 12 people, including three children in the Zhytomyr region, were killed in the widespread strikes across Ukraine. Dozens more were injured.
Zelensky emphasized the need for stronger international pressure on Russia. He highlighted the contrast between the ongoing conflict and calls for peace. Russia's brutality cannot be stopped without strong pressure on the Russian leadership, Zelensky stated.
The attacks come amidst prisoner exchanges and failed ceasefire deals between Ukraine and Russia.
