The recent conflicts in the Middle East have underscored the importance of safety and stability for Hong Kong, positioning it as an attractive destination for global talent. Chris Sun, the Labour Secretary, highlighted this during a press conference related to the upcoming Global Talent Summit Week.
Hong Kong's status as an international city and its safety were identified as crucial factors in attracting talent. The event, scheduled for March 18-19 at the Hong Kong Exhibition and Convention Centre in Wan Chai, aims to gather over 7,000 in-person attendees and 130,000 online participants.
Additionally, there are over 270,000 non-local residents settled in Hong Kong as of January 31, with 40% admitted through the Top Talent Pass Scheme. This reflects the city's commitment to creating opportunities for talent, despite global challenges.
