Multiple European nations have announced the deployment of military resources to the Middle East in response to the ongoing conflict between the US, Israel, and Iran. The UK, France, Greece, Italy, Portugal, and Spain have all contributed naval and air assets to support regional allies and counter the escalating tensions. The UK sent HMS Dragon and Typhoon jets to the eastern Mediterranean, while France deployed its Charles de Gaulle aircraft carrier and frigate Languedoc. Greece provided frigates and F-16 fighter jets, and Italy offered naval and air defense systems. Spain dispatched its advanced frigate Cristobal Colon to protect Cyprus, and Portugal allowed the US to use its Lajes base for operations against Iran. Meanwhile, Australia also sent military assets to the region, including a C-17A Globemaster and a KC-30A Multi-Role Tanker Transport, to assist in the ongoing conflict. Despite the increased military presence, European leaders have emphasized their commitment to defensive actions only, avoiding direct involvement in the war.
