Petrol stations in Auckland are experiencing fuel shortages as prices rise to $3 a litre, affecting logistics and supply amid geopolitical tensions.
Several Gull petrol stations in Auckland have run out of fuel, sparking concern among drivers as petrol prices reach $3 per litre due to the conflict in the Middle East. The Strait of Hormuz is crucial for global oil trade, with 20% of the world's oil passing through it daily. Gull, operating 113 stations mainly in the North Island, is struggling to meet the increased demand. Their logistics providers are working to replenish supplies as quickly as possible. The Ministry of Business, Innovation and Enterprise reported New Zealand has 52 days' worth of fuel stock. Gull assures there is enough fuel for everyone in Auckland and the rest of the country.
