A hamster was caught hitching a ride on a KMB bus from Central to Sha Tin, rescued by the Hong Kong SPCA.
A tiny golden brown Syrian hamster made an unusual journey from Central to Sha Tin on a KMB bus, leading to its rescue by the Hong Kong Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA).
Seen by a passenger, the hamster was discovered tucked into a corner of the bus. Its presence became known after it began clawing at a plastic bag tied to the driver's seat, attempting to free itself.
Once the bus entered the Cross-Harbour Tunnel, the hamster's efforts intensified as it tried to escape the swinging bag. It was then caught and placed in a plastic bag near the driver's seat, alongside a warning sign about impeding the bus captain.
After being rescued, the hamster is now under the care of the SPCA, where it will hopefully find a more comfortable home than its brief and stressful ride on the KMB bus.
