Sudan's military denies involvement in a hospital attack that killed 64 during Eid, as the Rapid Support Forces accuse the army of carrying out the strike.

The Sudan Army Denies Carrying Out Hospital Attack

The Sudanese army has refuted accusations that it was behind a deadly attack on a hospital in el-Daein, West Darfur. On Friday night, the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), who control the area, claimed that an army drone carried out the strike during Eid celebrations.

The World Health Organization (WHO) reported that 64 people were killed and 89 injured in the attack on el-Daein Teaching Hospital. Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus urged warring factions to end the conflict, which has lasted nearly three years and caused immense suffering for civilians.

Over 150,000 people have died since the conflict began, and around 12 million have been displaced. The UN has called this the worst humanitarian crisis in the world. Both sides have been repeatedly condemned for targeting medical facilities, which are crucial to delivering aid and care to affected populations.
