Emergency services are on the scene of a car crash in the Wellington region where the vehicle has flipped upside down into a stream. The incident happened on Mākara Beach Road, a narrow winding road between Karori and Mākara Beach. Fire and Emergency shift manager Alex Norris said that upon arrival, crews found the car partially submerged in the stream. Police are currently managing the situation, with the road closed for several hours. Motorists are advised to take an alternate route, heading north towards Johnsonville before doubling back to reach Mākara Beach.
