The overnight assault involved 48 drones, two missiles, and four gliding bombs, resulting in significant damage, including three high-rise residential buildings set ablaze.
Recent Escalation of Attacks
The attack on Kharkiv follows a previous Russian assault on Ukraine, which involved over 400 drones and nearly 40 missiles, causing six deaths and 80 injuries across the country.
Ukraine's Response: Operation Spider Web
Ukraine's security service (SBU) claims responsibility for drone strikes on Russian strategic warplanes at four air bases inside Russia. The SBU stated at least 40 Russian aircraft were struck during Operation Spider Web. Ukraine alleges that 117 drones were smuggled into Russia, concealed within lorries, and launched remotely near Russian airbases.
