Diddy Combs trial halted by juror illness. Prior, a juror was dismissed and another faces possible dismissal. Kanye West showed support. Key testimonies reveale
The trial of Sean "Diddy" Combs experienced an unexpected halt on June 18 after a juror fell ill. Presiding Judge Arun Subramanian adjourned the court for the day when a member of the main jury could not return due to vertigo. The court was also not in session on June 19 for Juneteenth.
"We have a sick juror who cannot be here and had vertigo and had to turn back,” Judge Subramanian stated. “The juror's partner notified us. He is not here, and he is on the regular jury, so it appears we cannot go on today.” The judge added that the situation would be monitored, as the juror's condition was unclear. The trial resumed with a shortened session on June 20.
This follows the dismissal of Juror No. 6 and possible dismissal of another juror over an alleged improper conversation about the case. The judge questioned the member in question, and a decision was pending.
Kanye West visited the New York City courthouse on June 13 to support Sean “Diddy” Combs. He made a brief visit to the overflow area but did not enter the courtroom.
Key testimonies included Jane's account of arguments, alleged sexual encounters, and the claim of being threatened with the release of sex tapes. The witness referenced the similarities between her experiences and Cassie Ventura's lawsuit.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Maurene Comey expressed concerns about a juror’s candor. Defense attorney Alexandra Shapiro requested time to respond.
A motion for a mistrial by Combs' legal team, alleging misconduct regarding testimony about an incident involving Cassie Ventura, was denied.
