Controversial South African politician, Julius Malema, has been denied entry to the United Kingdom. The decision was made by the Home Office, citing concerns over his views and statements.
The UK government stated that Malema was deemed "non-conducive to the public good." The decision stems from his vocal support for Hamas, including a speech following the October 7th attacks, and past threats which mentioned inciting violence.
Malema's Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) party has strongly condemned the ban. They view it as an act of "cowardice" that stifles crucial democratic debate.
This is the second time Malema has been denied entry to the UK in a short period. The UK government also indicated that Malema has no right to appeal the decision.
