Kyiv Under Attack: Four Killed in Latest Russian Aerial Strike
A devastating overnight Russian missile and drone attack on Kyiv has resulted in at least four fatalities, according to Ukraine's Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko. The strikes targeted residential areas, hospitals, and sports facilities.
Shevchenkivskyi District Hit Hard
The Shevchenkivskyi district bore the brunt of the assault, with a section of a high-rise building completely destroyed, potentially trapping residents beneath the debris.
Regional Casualties
In the Kyiv region, another woman was killed, and two more individuals sustained injuries during the aerial attack, as reported by regional head Mykola Kalashnyk. Thirteen people, including two children and a pregnant woman, were injured in Kyiv. Emergency services are on the scene, working to rescue survivors and extinguish fires that erupted across the capital.
Infrastructure Damage and Shelter
An entrance to a Kyiv metro station also suffered damage. Residents spent the night sheltering in metro stations.
Escalation of Attacks
Russia has intensified its aerial attacks on Kyiv and other Ukrainian cities in recent weeks. The full-scale invasion of Ukraine by Russia began in February 2022.
