NYC Port Authority Bus Crash: 12 Injured

At least 12 people were injured in a multi-bus collision at the New York City Port Authority Bus Terminal, causing significant traffic disruptions during the morning commute.

Incident Details

Around 6 a.m., three New Jersey Transit buses collided on the fourth-level entrance ramp near West 40th Street and Ninth Avenue in Manhattan's Times Square area, according to authorities.

The crash prompted a temporary suspension of NJ Transit bus service to the terminal, and the express bus lane ramp was closed for several hours. While the ramp has reopened, residual delays are expected.

Traffic Impact

The incident led to backups on key routes, including delays at the heavily used Lincoln Tunnel and slower traffic on the George Washington Bridge.

Investigation Underway

An investigation is currently underway to determine the exact cause of the collision. Preliminary reports suggest a possible medical emergency involving one of the bus drivers.

Initial reports indicate that 11 individuals were treated for minor injuries, while one person was transported to a local hospital for further evaluation.
