Texas Republican Virgil Bierschwale criticizes a potential Trump-India job deal, citing H-1B visa issues and discrimination against American workers.
Republican leader Virgil Bierschwale, vying for a Texas Senate seat in 2026, has issued a strong warning regarding potential job deals between the Trump administration and India.
Bierschwale has been a consistent critic of the H-1B visa program, arguing it disadvantages American tech workers. He asserts that these programs lead to discrimination against American workers by Indian managers.
"Americans have had enough of being discriminated against in their own country by Indian managers who refuse to hire Americans or work with them," Bierschwale stated.
Bierschwale's statement coincides with ongoing trade negotiations between the US and India. India is reportedly seeking increased access to labor-intensive industries. Trump has hinted at a potential deal involving reduced tariffs and greater competition for US businesses within the Indian market.
Previously, tariffs were imposed on Indian imports, only to be suspended during these ongoing negotiations.
Biershwale referenced the assassination of UnitedHealth CEO Brian Thompson, possibly suggesting an undertone of public frustration directed towards business leaders.
