An Indian-origin investor defends Elon Musk's "American Party" amid citizenship questions of key members like Tesla CFO Vaibhav Taneja. He condemns xenophobia.
An Indian-origin investor, known as Sidharth on X, has defended Elon Musk's "American Party" amidst controversy surrounding the citizenship of its members.
The controversy arose after critics questioned the 'American-ness' of the party's leadership, given Elon Musk's South African birth and Vaibhav Taneja's Indian origin, despite both being US citizens.
Sidharth, an American citizen himself, dismissed the criticism as xenophobic, asserting that Indian-Americans are loyal and committed to the US. He emphasized their contributions to the American economy and warned against the potential backlash from such attacks.
"The xenophobic attacks against Indian Americans simply for existing and voicing their opinions will backfire spectacularly," Sidharth wrote.
Sidharth pointed out that unlike many Americans of European descent, Indian-Americans are not even allowed dual citizenship, yet their loyalty is often questioned.
