Ex-White House doctor pleads Fifth during inquiry into Biden's health, sparking 'conspiracy' claims. Committee plans further interviews.
Former White House physician, Dr. Kevin O'Connor, invoked his Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination during a House Oversight Committee interview regarding President Biden's cognitive health.
Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer stated O'Connor refused to answer questions about being directed to lie about the president’s health or if he believed Biden was unfit for duty. O’Connor only confirmed his name before leaving.
His lawyer cited he had “no choice” but to plead the Fifth.
Comer suggested a “cover-up” and “conspiracy,” adding they will continue interviewing Biden White House aides.
Comer also alluded to allegations in the book “Original Sin” by Jake Tapper and Alex Thompson, adding that O’Connor’s silence supports claims in the book.
Interviews with former Biden administration figures are planned to assess whether they were overriding President Biden’s duties due to concerns about his cognitive state.
Biden has dismissed such concerns as false.
