At least six people have died following a series of Russian drone and missile strikes across Ukraine. The attacks occurred overnight and continued into Saturday, marking an intensification of the ongoing conflict.
In the Bukovina area of the Chernivtsi region, two people were killed and fourteen others were injured due to falling debris from a drone attack. Regional Governor Ruslan Zaparaniuk confirmed the casualties.
Ukraine's air force reported that Russia launched a massive aerial assault, deploying 597 drones, including decoy drones, along with 26 cruise missiles. Ukrainian defense systems managed to intercept 319 drones and 25 cruise missiles. A significant number of decoy drones, 258 in total, were likely electronically jammed.
Adding to the devastation, a missile strike in Dnipro on Saturday morning resulted in the deaths of two more individuals.
