Balochistan Car Bombing: Four Killed, 20 Injured; BLA Suspected

A car bomb in Balochistan's Qillah Abdullah killed four and injured 20. Suspicion falls on the BLA, amidst ongoing separatist insurgency in the region.

Car Bombing in Balochistan Kills Four

A devastating car bomb explosion in Qillah Abdullah, Balochistan, near the Afghanistan border, claimed the lives of four individuals and left 20 others injured. The incident occurred on Sunday night.

Details of the Attack

The blast also inflicted damage on nearby shops and the outer wall of a building housing paramilitary forces. According to deputy commissioner Abdullah Riaz, no group has claimed responsibility yet.

Suspicions and Investigation

Suspicion has fallen on ethnic Baloch separatists, particularly the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), who are known for targeting security forces and civilians in the region. Shahid Rind, a spokesperson for the Balochistan government, has condemned the attack and confirmed that an investigation is currently underway.

Context of Insurgency

The BLA, designated a terrorist organization by the United States, has been actively involved in a prolonged insurgency in Balochistan. Pakistan often accuses India of supporting the BLA and the Pakistani Taliban. The BLA recently appealed to India for support in their fight against Pakistan, denying claims of being an Indian proxy and asserting that with international support, they could establish a peaceful and independent Balochistan.
