Deadliest Attack on Bilenke Penitentiary

The Bilenke penitentiary in the southern Zaporizhzhia region was the hardest hit, with 16 inmates killed and over 50 injured. The attack destroyed the dining hall, administrative headquarters, and quarantine area.

Other Regions Affected

Separate Russian strikes in the north-eastern Kharkiv region, specifically in the village of Novoplatonivka, killed five people who were queuing for humanitarian aid. In the central Dnipropetrovsk region, three people were killed, including a pregnant woman, in a strike on a hospital in Kamianske.

Trump's Ultimatum to Russia

Former US President Donald Trump has issued an ultimatum to Russia, setting August 8th as the deadline to agree to a ceasefire or face sweeping sanctions. He previously issued a 50-day deadline, but reduced it following recent events.
