A Russian missile has struck a Ukrainian military training unit, causing casualties. Ukrainian ground forces confirmed the attack, reporting fatalities and injuries.
According to Ukrainian ground forces, three service personnel were killed and eighteen were wounded in the strike. The incident occurred on Tuesday evening. The location of the training ground was not immediately disclosed by the military.
However, one Ukrainian war reporter indicated that the training ground was situated in the Chernihiv region, which lies north of Kyiv and borders both Russia and Belarus.
Russia's ministry of defence released video footage of what it claims to be an Iskander ballistic missile strike on a wooded area. The video showed over 20 cluster-type explosions. The claims of the Russian MOD could not be immediately verified.
Ukrainian officials are investigating whether negligence led to the deaths and injuries in the recent missile strike.
This is the third Russian attack on a Ukrainian training unit in a little over two months.
