Kuwait has launched a streamlined online e-Visa platform, revolutionizing the application process for tourist, family, business, and official visit visas. This digital initiative allows eligible travelers to apply for visas in minutes through the Ministry of Interior's official portal. Tourist visas offer stays of up to 90 days, while family, business, and official visas are valid for 30 days per visit. The entire application, from document submission to payment, is conducted online, eliminating the need for physical paperwork and embassy visits.

e-Visa Categories

The e-Visa portal caters to several visa categories:

• Tourist Visa: Ideal for leisure travel, allowing stays up to 90 days.
• Family Visit Visa: Designed for relatives of Kuwaiti residents, valid for 30 days.
• Business Visit Visa: Suitable for professionals attending meetings and business engagements, also valid for 30 days.
• Official Visit Visa: Intended for government delegates and diplomats, with a 30-day validity.

Nationals from eligible countries, predominantly in Europe, North America, Australia, Japan, and GCC residents, can benefit from this online service. The application process involves accessing the Ministry of Interior's e-Visa portal, creating an account, selecting the appropriate visa type, and submitting required documents such as a passport bio-data page, passport-sized photo, return flight ticket, accommodation proof, and sponsor or invitation letters when applicable. Online payments, ranging from USD 10–30 based on nationality, are securely processed. Applicants can track their application status online, with approvals typically granted within 1–3 working days. Upon approval, a digital visa is sent via email for printing or digital presentation upon arrival.

Passport validity should extend at least six months beyond the entry date. While some GCC residents and visa-exempt nationalities can still obtain visas on arrival, online application is highly recommended.
