The heavy rains brought Hong Kong's financial district to a standstill, prompting the closure of schools and the activation of temporary shelters. Hospital services also faced challenges. Significant travel disruptions occurred, with 101 flights delayed and two canceled, according to reports from the South China Morning Post. Authorities warned of potential "severe flooding," noting that hourly rainfall had already exceeded or was expected to surpass 100 millimetres in certain areas. The black signal is activated when rainfall exceeds 70 millimetres within an hour.
