Syria: Gunmen Attack Hospital, Execute Medic

A shocking video has emerged from Syria depicting a brutal attack on a hospital in Sweida city. Armed men, believed to be affiliated with military or security forces, are seen executing a medical worker at point-blank range.

Incident Details

The incident reportedly occurred on July 16, amidst ongoing clashes between various factions, including Druze militias, tribal groups, and government forces. The disturbing footage was published by the activist media collective, Suwayda 24.

The video shows a group of people, possibly hospital staff, kneeling on the floor. Armed men then grab one individual, assault him, and subsequently execute him with assault rifles and a pistol.

Investigation Underway

Activists have accused Syrian military and security personnel of being the attackers. However, a Syrian government official has stated that an investigation is in progress to determine the identities and affiliations of the assailants. The interior ministry has condemned the act and vowed to bring the perpetrators to justice.

Maj. Gen. Abdul Qader Al-Tahhan has been assigned to oversee the inquiry.
