Nursery Worker Admits Horrific Child Sex Abuse Charges in North London
A nursery worker in North London has admitted to the sexual abuse of young children under his supervision. Vincent Chan, 45, pleaded guilty to 26 serious charges at Wood Green Crown Court, including sexual assault by penetration, sexual assault by touching, and creating indecent images depicting severe child sex abuse.
Investigation: A "Harrowing and Complex" Case
The Metropolitan Police initiated its investigation into Chan following a critical tip-off from a vigilant whistleblower. The force characterized the probe as one of the most "harrowing and complex" cases they have ever managed, emphasizing the profound emotional toll and intricate nature of the evidence.
Chan, who resides on Stanhope Avenue in Finchley, commenced work at the nursery in 2017. Over time, he held several positions, including art specialist, room leader, and nursery nurse, with the crucial responsibility of caring for children aged two to four. Police noted that Chan first came under scrutiny for filming the children in his care and adding audio overlays to these videos.
