This pause in results updates prompted former U.S. President Donald Trump to weigh in, alleging potential fraud without presenting concrete evidence. Via his Truth Social platform, Trump stated that Honduras was "trying to change the results of their Presidential Election." He warned, "If they do there will be hell to pay! The people of Honduras voted in overwhelming numbers on November 30th." This statement further complicated the already volatile situation.
