Health authorities in Spain's Basque Country have launched an investigation after 253 children received expired doses of the childhood hexavalent vaccine. The issue was detected on January 15, leading to consultations with national agencies and the manufacturer. Osakidetza apologized and opened an internal probe to prevent similar incidents. The vaccine protects against six diseases: diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, polio, Hepatitis B, and Haemophilus influenzae type B. The Basque Country operates under regional autonomy with its own health system.
