Police initially believed the deaths were from shootings but later determined one victim was stabbed. The incident occurred on January 14, with Timmins being due in court for family harm-related charges. His sister expressed her grief over his passing.

Police are continuing their investigation and have spoken to the three injured individuals. A firearm was found at the scene, and parts of a gun were previously seized from the property. The police crime manager noted that one victim sustained injuries consistent with a stabbing, while the others had gunshot wounds.
