Ukraine commends Elon Musk for restricting Starlink use by Russia, preventing drone attacks and enhancing national security.
Ukraine has lauded Elon Musk's efforts to limit the use of Starlink satellites by Russia for drone attacks. Defence Minister Mykhailo Fedorov acknowledged the swift action taken by Musk in response to the threat posed by Russian drones equipped with Starlink connectivity.
The drones, which have been linked to several deadly attacks, including one on a passenger train that left six people dead, now face significant challenges in real-time control. Musk noted that the measures implemented have effectively hindered this capability.
As part of their strategy, the Ukrainian government is preparing to enforce a whitelist of approved Starlink terminals, disconnecting any unregistered ones. This initiative aims to counter Russia's military advantages and ensure national stability.
Despite previous tensions over access to Starlink in Crimea, Musk has maintained that his company will not deactivate the terminals, emphasizing their critical role in supporting Ukraine's military efforts.
