WWE WrestleMania 42 Pulled from New Orleans, Future Plans Unclear

WWE cancels WrestleMania 42 in New Orleans after previously announcing it as the host city. The event will be rescheduled for a later year.

WWE WrestleMania 42 No Longer Heading to New Orleans

After an initial announcement earlier this year, WWE has officially canceled plans to hold WrestleMania 42 in New Orleans. The Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation confirmed the change, stating that they are working to reschedule WrestleMania for the city at an unspecified date in the future.

The Rock's Announcement and Subsequent Shift

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson had previously announced that New Orleans' Caesar's Superdome would be the venue for WrestleMania in 2026. The announcement took place during a WWE Friday Night SmackDown segment at Smoothie King Center in February.

Money in the Bank Coming to New Orleans

While WrestleMania 42 is off the table for now, New Orleans will still host Money in the Bank, typically held in June or July. Walt Leger, head of New Orleans & Company, noted discussions are ongoing to bring other WWE pay-per-view events to the city. These discussions with TKO aim to expand the partnership and include events like UFC 318 and Money in the Bank in 2026.

WrestleMania 42 Venue Still Undecided

A new location for WrestleMania 42 has yet to be announced. Fans are suggesting Wembley Stadium in London as a potential alternative. This year's WrestleMania, held at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, drew a massive crowd. New Orleans previously hosted WrestleMania 34 in 2018, generating a significant economic impact on the city.
