Nick Adams Dropped as Trump's Malaysia Ambassador Nominee

Right-wing influencer Nick Adams has been dropped as the United States' pick for ambassador to Malaysia. His controversial nomination, opposed by Malaysians, was 'returned to the president' last month.

Adams confirmed he would not become US ambassador to Malaysia in an email to The Sydney Morning Herald and said his new role would soon be revealed. He also hinted at a 'major announcement coming.'

Checks on the US Congress website show that Adams’ nomination was 'returned to the president under provisions of Senate Rule XXXI' on January 3, making it no longer eligible for Senate consideration.

Adams, a naturalised American citizen originally from Australia, was nominated by President Donald Trump on July 10 last year among other choices.
