Donald Trump Calls for Unconditional Surrender from Iran

Donald Trump has emphasized that any deal with Iran must result in the country's complete surrender, signaling a maximalist approach to US foreign policy towards Iran. On his Truth Social platform, Trump stated, "There will be no deal with Iran except unconditional surrender!"

He also mentioned that after Iran's surrender, the US and its allies will work to rebuild Iran into a stronger and more prosperous nation. However, Iranian officials have responded defiantly, with Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi asserting that the US plans for a quick military victory have failed and that any such plan will also be a bigger failure.

The conflict has resulted in significant casualties, including many children, as highlighted by UNICEF. Iran has been launching missiles and drones targeting Israeli and US interests, while the US has stated its intention to project dominance over Iran through military means.

Trump has also hinted at involvement in selecting Iran's next leader, aiming to install a leader friendly to US interests, similar to the approach in Venezuela.
