Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has reached out to Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman (MBS) to discuss ways to counter Iranian drones targeting Gulf nations. The initiative follows the recent escalation in the US-Israeli conflict with Iran, which has led to retaliatory attacks on countries hosting US assets.
Highlighting Ukraine's experience in counter-drone technology, Zelenskyy noted that his country has successfully developed low-cost drones, such as the Geran, which cost significantly less than the Patriot missiles used by the US and its allies. He emphasized that Ukraine is ready to share its expertise and provide specialists to assist in defending against the Shahed drones.
By offering this support, Zelenskyy aims to strengthen Ukraine's position with its allies, potentially paving the way for accessing advanced US-made defense systems to protect against Russian attacks. This strategic move underscores the growing role of Ukrainian technology in global military strategies.
