New surveillance footage from the Metropolitan Correctional Center shows prison guards failed to perform mandatory rounds before Jeffrey Epstein's death, leadin
A newly revealed surveillance video from the night of Jeffrey Epstein’s death has exposed prison guards who failed to conduct mandatory rounds at Manhattan’s Metropolitan Correctional Center. The footage shows that Correctional Officers Tova Noel and Michael Thomas were not performing their duties properly, as they were seen lounging instead of checking on Epstein, who was in a nearby cell.
The Department of Justice documents revealed that the guards had ignored bright-orange warnings and reminders about Epstein’s need for constant monitoring. Epstein was taken off suicide watch before his death and left without proper supervision, leading to his tragic passing between 10:30 pm August 9 and 6:30 am August 10.
Despite being notified about the importance of rounds, Noel and Thomas failed to follow instructions, resulting in a series of mistakes that ultimately led to Epstein’s death. They were fired for their negligence but faced no criminal charges due to a decision by Judge Analisa Torres in 2021.
